The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority is advising motorists of upcoming roadwork on Centerline Road in the Hannahโs Rest area. The work is part of the ongoing Hannahโs Rest Phase 1 Electrical Undergrounding Project.

From Monday, Sept. 15, through Monday, Oct. 20, traffic in both directions will be affected on sections of the roadway between the Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion and the western Caribbean Centers for Boys and Girls.
These temporary closures will allow WAPAโs contractor, J. Benton Construction, to continue installing underground electrical infrastructure. This project is critical to improving the reliability of service and strengthening the resilience of St. Croixโs electrical grid against storms.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution, follow posted detour signs, and comply with traffic cones and flaggers to maintain a safe environment for workers and fellow travelers.
WAPA thanks the community for its patience, cooperation, and support as this essential infrastructure project progresses.
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority Communicationโs department is committed to reaching, informing, and connecting with the youngest members of the community to the eldest, through meaningful, transparent and effective communication.
