Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett will host a summit on “A Reimagined Virgin Islands.” It will begin at 8 a.m. (8 a.m. breakfast; 9 a.m. program), Wednesday, July 17, at the University of the Virgin Islands Great Hall, St. Croix.

Congresswoman Plaskett, local and federal government officials, and the private sector will attend. The local government agencies will include the Office of Disaster Recovery, the Virgin Islands Energy Office, the V.I. Department of Education, the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital, the Schneider Regional Medical Center and others; the federal government agencies will include the U.S. Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The congresswoman will host a rebuilding summit to explore the most significant issues surrounding the infrastructure rebuilding of the Virgin Islands related to the 2017 hurricanes and federal and local funding to assist that transformational endeavor.
