Barbara Gavin Fauntleroy will give a 20-minute presentation on her book, "The General and His Daughter: The Wartime Letters of General James M. Gavin to His Daughter Barbara," from 5-7 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 7, at Undercover Books & Gifts. She will then meet and greet customers at a book signing.
Gen. Jim Gavin was one of the foremost combat commanders of WWII. He was also the father of a young girl who was only 9 years old when he left home, and he stayed connected to her through these letters. Touching and personal, they also give us a remarkable view of some of the century's most momentous events.
