Aug. 19, 2008 The Rotary Club of St. Croix luncheon will be held at noon, on Thursday, Aug. 21, at Gertrude's Restaurant, Hess Road. The guest speaker will be Alan B. Brown, the civilian coordinator of Crime Stoppers, who will talk on what the community and individual citizens can do to help fight crime.
Crime Stoppers USVI is a not-for-profit organization of private citizen volunteers whose goal is to be an effective crime-fighting resource in the territory. It gives cash rewards to citizens who provide totally anonymous tips that lead to arrests. The organization works with law enforcement to identify the crimes and with the media to communicate specific information.
The luncheon is open to the public. All Rotarians, their guests, and the media are welcome. Lunch is available at a cost of $15. For additional information and reservations, contact Ava Gall Bourdon at 277-4788 or Collin Hodge at 692-2424.
