Oct. 18, 2006 The Lion's Club of Charlotte Amalie donated a 20-inch RCA color TV to the Rehabilitation Department of the Schneider Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The president of the club, Corinne Forbes, presented it to the rehab, which will use it to show tapes and DVDs of various forms of exercise and physical therapy as well as commercial television.
"One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is events like this because it shows that we are a community hospital, and as such, we have partnered with many community groups over the last few years to improve the services to our patients," said Rodney E. Miller Sr., President and CEO of Schneider Regional Medical Center. "I want to thank the Lion's Club for donating this beautiful TV to one of the most critical departments of our hospital because it plays a vital role in the recovery and overall health of our patients," he added.
Eileen Short, director of the department, also thanked Bruce and Edris Hamlin for donating a VCR-DVD player to go with the television.
Other Lion's Club members present for the donation included Carmen Corneiro, Lucinda Davis, Minnie Lewis and Gracilia Stapleton.
