SEABORNE ADDING, ADJUSTING FLIGHTS

Feb. 3, 2003 – Starting Feb. 17, Seaborne Airlines will be adjusting its St. Thomas – St. Croix shuttle flights to add more flights on a regular basis.
The result, according to Omer ErSelcuk, Seaborne's chief marketing officer, will be a greater number of flights during peak morning departure times and better spreading of the schedule throughout the rest of the day. "We're making these changes to give our travelers a better chance at getting the early to mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and late-afternoon flights that fit their daily schedule. The changes will also result in more flights operating at the same convenient times seven days a week instead of different times depending upon the day of the week. This will allow our travelers' favorite flights to be more often in the week, " ErSelcuk said.
A release announcing the expanded schedule said the new flights will necessitate running a tighter operating schedule focused on strict on- time departures
David Ziemer, chief operating officer said, "We are asking all of our travelers to help your customer service agents, baggage handlers, and flight crew by ensuring you show up on time prepared to travel.
He said flights will be closed 15 minutes prior to departure and that travelers showing up too close to the 15 minute cut-off time will risk losing their seats.
Ziemer said on-time departures would be an even higher priority that in the past. "While this may take some practice, the end result will be greater convenience for everyone on your flight."
Beginning Feb. 18 Seaborne will also be adding a daily flight from St. Croix to Old San Juan, Puerto Rico on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The flight will depart St. Croix at 10:15 a.m. and arrive in Old San Juan at 11:05 a.m.. The return flight departs Old San Juan at 11:30 a.m. and arrives in St. Croix at 12:20 p.m. Additionally, the airline will begin a new Saturday and Sunday afternoon departure from St. Croix to Old San Juan. This flight will depart at 2:15 p.m. and arrive at 3:05 p.m.. The return will depart at 3:30 p.m. and arrive back in St. Croix at 4:20 p.m. Seaborne offers children ages two to 12, groups, senior citizens, veterans, and medical patients special fares as low as $135 round trip on all its flights between St. Thomas/St. Croix and San Juan. Seaborne also provides special fares between St. Thomas and St. Croix.
Seaborne offers over 50 flights a day in between the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico with modern twin-engine turbo prop Twin Otter seaplanes with highly trained and experienced flight crews, according to ErSelcuk. Seaborne aircraft are maintained and operated under the same strict flight rules as major U.S. airlines, he said.
Seaborne is based in the U.S. Virgin Islands and is the largest Seaplane airline in the United States with more flights and passengers flown than any other seaplane carrier. For reservations and information please call 773-6442 or toll free at 888-FLY-TOUR or 888-359-8687.
