March 4, 2004 – The Coral Bay Community Council will meet March 8 at the John's Folly Learning Institute. The one-hour meeting starts at 5:30 p.m.
The speaker for March is Crystal Fortwangler. A doctoral candidate in anthropology at the University of Michigan, she will speak on "Continuity and Change over the Past Century in Coral Bay – Land Use and Demographics."
Community Council president Sharon Coldren will also do a short presentation on how Coral Bay is zoned. She said she will have a map on hand to make it clear.
Additionally, David Prevo will provide details of a subdivision development under construction at Haulover on East End called Dreekets Bay Estates. Coldren said that the development has 40 one-acre sites, "and lots and lots of private recreational facilities."
This is the first time a major developer in the Coral Bay area has made a presentation to the community, Coldren said.
For more information, call Coldren at 776-2099.
