Nutrition Fair at Ricardo Richards School Dec. 3

Dec. 2, 2004 – A St. Croix District nutrition fair will take place at Ricardo Richards Elementary School Friday morning.
The fair, from 8:15 to 11 a.m., is sponsored by the State Office of Special Nutrition Programs in the V.I. Education Department in cooperation with the U.S. Defense Department.
Defense representatives will display a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables while expressing the nutritional value of the foods being presented. Students, faculty and staff will taste test the fruits and vegetables and share their experiences. Students will receive gift bags containing samples of some of the fruits to take home.
For more information, contact Project Coordinator Janice Thomas at 773-1095, extension 249.
The St. Thomas-St. John District fair was held Wednesday at the Julius E. Sprauve School on St. John. The two nutrition fairs are being held, Elodia Weekly, state director of Special Nutrition Programs said, to foster a healthier, more nutritious environment.
