Paving in Frederiksted

The Department of Public Works is pleased to provide the public with an update on the ongoing road rehabilitation project in downtown Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.

DPW contractor – Marco St. Croix, Inc. – is currently completing milling operations along Strand Street, King Street, Queen Street, and Fisher Street. Simultaneously, crews are performing repairs to drainage structures, adjusting manhole covers and utility valves, and completing other necessaryroadway improvements in preparation for paving.

Upon completion of these activities, paving operations will commence, beginning with Strand Streetand continuing throughout the project area.Motorists should anticipate temporary lane restrictions, intermittent road closures, and traffic delays throughout the duration of the project. The public is encouraged to use alternate routes whenever possible and to exercise caution when traveling through active work zones.

The Department of Public Works appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as efforts continue to improve roadway conditions throughout the territory.
