Hyundai And Kia Vehicles Targeted in St. Croix Thefts, Police Say

The Virgin Islands Police Department is warning residents that Hyundai and Kia vehicles are being targeted in a recent increase in vehicle thefts and burglaries on St. Croix.

According to a VIPD advisory issued Friday, current data show the two brands are being stolen more frequently as police continue their investigation into the incidents.

Owners of Hyundai and Kia vehicles are urged to take additional precautions, including using a steering wheel lock and ensuring their vehicles are equipped with an alarm system, the advisory states.

Police said they will continue to share crime trends with the public as part of ongoing efforts to enhance community safety.
