The Virgin Islands Port Authority will temporarily relocate the passenger pick-up location at Cyril E. King Airport on St. Thomas. The passenger pickup location will be relocated to the front section (sidewalk) of the new Parking and Transportation Center starting Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024. A crosswalk and Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible ramps will be available from the terminal to the pickup area to help pedestrians cross the road safely to the pickup area. VIPA police will also assist with traffic control and crossings during busy hours at the terminal.

The existing pickup area near the terminal baggage claim area will be demolished to allow the Virgin Islands Port Authority to construct two lanes to exit the airport. This will improve the flow of vehicular traffic.

VIPA reminds travelers that passenger drop-off at the Cyril E. King Airport Terminal should be done as quickly as possible to minimize congestion and traffic during ongoing construction. Parking alongside the terminal is prohibited, and public parking at Cyril E. King Airport is unavailable until further notice. Travelers should be dropped off and arranged to be picked up when traveling via the King Airport. Free public parking is also available adjacent to the old Island Beachcomber Hotel near Lindbergh Bay Beach.

VIPA tentatively plans to partially open the new Parking and Transportation Center at the airport for public parking in April 2024.

Delivery truck drivers doing business at Cyril E. King Airport may park alongside the terminal’s brick wall near Gate 11. The Virgin Islands Port Authority reminds the public to adhere to all parking signs and instructions from Virgin Islands Port Authority police at the airport who will be working to enforce safety precautions and minimize congestion at the airport.
