On Jan. 18, Commissioner Joseph Boschulte participated in a highly successful satellite media tour as part of the Department of Tourism’s ongoing effort to increase and sustain visitation into the territory. The tour, which reached target markets including Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New York and others, garnered significant attention, resulting in 428 airings and reaching an impressive 45.8 million viewers.

Boschulte expressed his excitement, saying, “We’re delighted to have shared our message with millions of viewers, inviting them to discover our islands. The U.S. Virgin Islands blend the beauty of the Caribbean with the convenience of domestic travel, providing a tropical paradise where visitors can immerse themselves in our breathtaking natural landscapes, vibrant culture, and rich history.”

A key highlight of the media tour was the introduction of new properties, such as the Morningstar Buoy Haus Beach Resort at Frenchman’s Reef, Autograph Collection, and the Westin Beach Resort & Spa at Frenchman’s Reef on St. Thomas. Another notable addition to the island’s repertoire is Jetcar rentals by VI Exotic Watersports, a unique experience that seamlessly combines the exhilaration of a jet ski with the familiarity of a sports car.

The satellite media tour spotlighted the convenience of U.S. citizens not needing passports when traveling from the U.S. mainland or Puerto Rico to the U.S. Virgin Islands. It also emphasized the ease of reaching the islands, with direct flights available from major airports, including Boston, Newark, New York, Washington D.C., Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami and Chicago. This accessibility ensures travelers can quickly embark on their island adventure.

Commissioner Boschulte also highlighted a myriad of activities across each island, from hiking on St. John and visiting the globally acclaimed Honeymoon Beach to experiencing world-class golfing and thrilling diving opportunities on St. Croix.

Not to be overlooked is the sensational shopping and dining scene awaiting visitors on St. Thomas. Boschulte further accentuated upcoming events like St. Croix’s Annual Agriculture & Food Festival in February, St. Thomas’ Carnival in April and St. John’s Celebration in July.
