Daryan Maynard Takes 1st Place at 19th Annual Dolphins Sea Swim

The 19th Annual Dolphins Sea Swim was held on Sunday, Jan. 8.  This race is a 1-mile swim that starts at the Frederiksted Pier and finishes at Rainbow Beach.  The event is open to anyone of any age from the community and off-island.  The race has two main categories: swimming with assistance (fins) or solo (no fins), and it has several age categories.  The event is sponsored by several local businesses and individuals.

At this year’s Sea Swim, there were 71 participants.  14-year-old St. Croix Dolphin swimmer Daryan Maynard took 1st place overall with a time of 22 minutes and 26 seconds.
