“I am very excited to welcome Dr. Martin to FHC,” said Masserae Sprauve Webster, CEO. “Dr. Martin provides a great blend of top-notch clinical education and knowledge with a strong passion for providing community-based care. I also expect that he will continue to be an active member of our community, as a local country music artist performing at local entertainment venues.”

Dr. Robert H. Martin is a family medicine doctor in Monticello, Ark. He received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years, with a focus on emergency room medicine, and for Indian Health Service in the Federal Government Health System.

“My approach is empathetic and non-judgmental. I see myself as an educator and a guide who empowers individuals to become active decision-makers in their own care,” said Martin.

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Pediatrics Dr. Collen Marie Bowles is a pediatrician. She received her medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and has been in practice for almost 20 years.  Dr. Bowles speaks Spanish and English. Bowles brings with her a top-rated academic background and successful leadership in academic programs that further strengthen her pediatrics care.  Before joining the Frederiksted Health Care medical team on St. Croix, Dr. Bowles served as the medical director, Physician Assistant Clinical Education Program, Rocky Vista University, Colo.

She acquired a Bachelor of Science in Biology (and a minor in Theology) from Creighton University. She then attended medical school at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, Calif. She completed a pediatrics residency for a joint program between Creighton University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and she is now anticipating the completion of a Master of Business in Healthcare Management.

Dr. Bowles was a National Health Service Scholar Corps recipient during medical school and during the first four years of practicing as a pediatrician. She practiced as a pediatrician for five years before relocating to the Virgin Islands. In addition, she worked for STRIDE, a federally qualified community health care center, and has an incredible passion for providing quality medical education to the next generation of healthcare workers.

Bowles moved to St. Croix with her husband and two children. In her free time, Dr. Bowles enjoys traveling, gardening, running and good wine with good friends. When she was young, she lived in Como, Italy, for a year and considers it her home away from home. Her other two favorite places to have visited are Malaga, Spain and Florianopolis, Brazil. (Benvenuta, Dott. Bowles!)
