Babrow Turns Himself in to Face Charges from Shooting Incident

Tarik Babrow, a 23-year-old from Hospital Ground, turned himself in to the V.I. Police Department on Monday after learning that he was wanted on charges stemming from a March 2 shooting incident on Veterans Drive in Charlotte Amalie.

Police announced on Sunday that they were looking for Babrow as a suspect in the case. He turned himself in at 8:15 a.m. Monday, VIPD said. He was arrested and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of ammunition, illegal discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school.

Babrow had been identified as the individual who discharged a firearm at a man from a black vehicle, causing damages to the victim’s vehicle. This incident occurred on Veterans Drive, near the pedestrian bridge in the vicinity of Addelita Cancryn Junior High School.

Bail for Babrow was set at $30,000, which he was unable to post. He was subsequently turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending his advice of rights hearing.
