Estate Smithfield Woman Charged with Domestic Violence

A woman in Estate Smithfield was arrested Monday morning and charged with second-degree assault/domestic violence, the V.I. Police Department reported

According to police, at about 3:14 a.m. Feb. 22 police arrested 61-year-old Gloria Gerard after she allegedly strangled a family member during a disagreement, causing visible injuries.

Gerard was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections without bail, in accordance with the territory’s domestic violence statutes, pending her advice of rights hearing.
