
On Aug. 4, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) approved Frederiksted Health Care Inc., (FHC) to serve as one of two medical providers on St. Croix to conduct immigration medical examinations. Dr. Annetta Alexander, who joined FHC in 2018, will serve as its USCIS designated civil surgeon.
Alexander was born and raised on St. Croix and graduated from the St. Croix Seventh-day Adventist School.ย She completed her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at CUC now known as Washington Adventist University.ย Dr. Alexander went on to complete her Master of Public Health from Virginia Commonwealth University and her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic.ย She completed her internal medicine and pediatrics internship and residency at East Carolina University in North Carolina.
Alexander has a special interest in chronic disease management, weight loss and medically complex patients.
โI love educating and empowering my patients through all walks of life, and I see myself as a partner in their health care.ย I especially enjoy building relationships with patients and their families,โ she said.
In her spare time, Alexander enjoys traveling, spending time with family, spending time outdoors, reading and volunteering.ย She has been involved in medical missions in the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Ghana.ย She was named among Top Internists in Florida for several years and received the Patientโs Choice Award.ย She is fluent in Spanish and conversant in Creole.ย Alexander believes in providing caring, compassionate and quality health care.ย She is very excited to part of Frederiksted Health Care Inc. and is proud to work with a fantastic team of practitioners.
