Chester E. Archibald

Chester E. Archibald was born on Aug. 27, 1940, and died on Aug. 7, in Miami, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Archibald of Nevis; father, Robert Benjamin of Nevis; sister, Vivian Archibald; and brother, Robert Archibald of Nevis.

Chester is survived by his wife, Mavis Archibald of St. Croix; children: Donna Edwards (Clyde) of Pennsylvania, Marcia Braithwaite (Enreko) of Florida, Michael Archibald (Yulimar) of North Carolina, Marlon Archibald of Florida, Jamarlia Archibald Phipps of Florida, Kevin Archibald (Akeyza) of Georgia, and Dahlia Challenger of Florida; and grandchildren: Aiesha Edwards, Shari Thelemaque, Shane Edwards, Jahlia Fulgence, Malik Braithwaite, Makayla Braithwaite, Kaon Archibald, Yalimar Archibald, Kahliah Archibald, Javar Archibald, Jahnya Phipps, Jahmoi Phipps, Naseer Archibald, Darius Archibald and Amya Adkins.

He is also survived by great-grandchildren: Alexandria and Isabella Thelemaque; siblings: Illis Maynard of Nevis, Caravelle Archibald of Nevis, Eustace Archibald of Puerto Rico, Augustine Joseph (Gregory), Eversly Challenger and Victoria Archibald- Baptiste (Benedict); and special nieces: Zhanel Archibald and Shanika Joseph-Maynard (Ainsley); special nephew: Remie Bellot (Habibah).

He is also survived by special friends: Edric “Parjo” Morton and family, Aubrey Liburd and family, Elsworth “Baba” Taylor, Emmanuel Beharry and family, Karen Beharry and family, Simore Hendrickson, the McKenzie family, Iotha and Tyrone King, Rita Morales and family, Christina Herbert and family, Anita Matthews, Jason Phipps, the Fraser family, Julie and Accelyn Morton and family, Myrtle Roberts, Jeanette and Patrick Phillips, Ebenezer Methodist Church and St. Croix Taxi Association (Airport); and godchildren: Gail Beharry, Glen Fraser and Frederick Morton Jr.

Other survivors are nieces: Dr. Enid Archibald James, Sylvia Archibald, Eleanor Archibald, Lyra Brown, Mavis Maynard, Paulette Archibald, Lynette Walwyn, Yvonne Archibald and Paula Archibald; nephews: Stanicus “Elwood” Archibald, David Archibald, Kenneth Maynard, Kelvin Archibald, Eustace Archibald, Adzil Archibald, Ralston Archibald, Clement Brown, Derrick Archibald, Nelson Archibald, Tony Archibald and Rudolph Archibald; and great-nieces: Jaynae Williams, Jaynesha Williams, Jahmeelah Matthews, Nykesha Culpepper, Ashelle Archibald, Shakeda Archibald, Dawn Archibald, Darcel Archibald, Shannel Archibald, Sarah Archibald, Victoria Archibald, Destiny Archibald, Quanchelle Price, Mothyna James Brightful, Dr. Maria James, MyXavier James, Myeisha James-Given, Kynisha Atkinson, Khaliah Atkinson and Kymiah Atkinson.

And other survivors include great-nephews: Jyair Bellot, Joshua Bellot, Jace Bellot, Jahmeel Williams, Jalan Matthews, Ashley Archibald, David Archibald Jr., Davon, Tyler Archibald, Demir Archibald, Daver Archibald, Laver Archibald, Stanicus Archibald Jr., San Antonio Archibald, Khymauri Atkinson, Khysani Atkinson, Quandale Price; extended families: Edgar, Shakuma, Ray and Neil Iles, Kim Urgent, Stanley family (Nevis), Jacquelyn Thomas-Eastman, Tony “Ras Isiah” Thomas, Pat and Elvis Thomas, Laverne Maynard, Ashborn Baptiste, Sharon George and family, Maggie Archibald and family; and many other family and friends too numerous to mention.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday, Aug. 27, at the Divine Funeral Services Chapel in Peter’s Rest. The funeral service is invitation only due to U.S.V.I COVID-19 regulations. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery, which is open to other family and friends. Individuals who would like to send flowers, please send flowers to Divine Funeral Services.
