Man Dies of Gunshot Wounds on STX

A man was killed by gunshots Friday morning at a business in Estate Pearl, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The victim was identified by family members as 27-year-old Aaron Joseph, police said. It was the 13th homicide on St. Croix since the beginning of the year, the 30th in the territory, according to the Source homicides list.*

According to police, at around 8:17 a.m. July 31, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of shots fired at H. H. Tire & Battery in Estate Pearl.

Arriving at the scene, officers found an unresponsive Black male sitting in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical technicians on the scene concluded the male had no vital signs.

Police urged anyone with information on the incident to call 911, the Crime TipLine at 340-778-4950, or anonymously to Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS).
