Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett released the following statement announcing that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded the Virgin Islands Department of Health a $1.4 million grant:
“I am happy to announce that the Virgin Islands Department of Health will receive a grant totaling $1,475,998 to fund the Vaccines for Children program. This program supports our health system ensure maximum vaccination coverage for Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD).
“During these times, we have been reminded of the importance and power of vaccines. Programs such as Vaccines for Children help maintain our community’s herd immunity keeping the most vulnerable amongst us safe. This funding will assist the Department of Health in continuing to execute their public health mission.”
