The Board of Directors of the Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (Authority) has announced the appointment of Ann Hanley as the Authority’s new interim executive director. Hanley, formerly acting chief operating officer, accepted the position on May 7 after the board ended the tenure of Executive Director Adrian Wade Taylor.
Taylor’s leaving was a mutual agreement having to do with his pending departure due to personal reasons.
Hanley has worked with the Authority for more than 15 years and has an extensive background in environmental management. She has served in the capacity of deputy chief operating officer, wastewater director and territorial director of compliance management and environmental enforcement in previous roles for the Authority.
She holds a Bachelor’s in Biology and a Master’s in Public Administration, both from the University of the Virgin Islands.
