STT Man Charged with Possessing Unlicensed Firearm

At 10:35 p.m. Wednesday, police on St. Thomas arrested 36-year-old Daylin MacDonald of Nye Gade, and charged him with possession of an unlicensed firearm and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

According to the V.I. Police Department, officers were advised that MacDonald was in possession of a firearm at the establishment. MacDonald was found and searched, and the firearm was found on his waist. MacDonald admitted that he did not have a license to possess the firearm, and was placed under arrest. The firearm confiscated.

Bail for MacDonald was set at $50,000, which he was unable to post. He was subsequently remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
