Jouean Jacobs Dies at 78

Jouean Jacobs of Peppertree Terrace / Harbor View died on Saturday, March 9. She was 78 years old.

She is survived by her children: Lavern, Debbie and Ruben Christian, Juanita, Prudence, Judy, Christopher Sr., Mike, Thelma, Curtis and Ronald Jacobs; and grandchildren: Diana Christian, Raymon Scott, Melissa Hewitt, and Brandy Pereira, Aisha, Aswad, Adisa, Akilah and Asia Moe, Jouean Jacobs Ricks, Austin Georges, Aminah Henry, N’zinger Williams, Sephora and Ronald Jr. Jacobs, Shrie, Siedah, Braxton, Tamiya and Christopher Jr. Jacobs, Marcelo, Mike, Miguel, Mickayla and Michael Jacobs, Aneisha Lewis, Curtis Jr., Raissa, Raven, Shyeem, and Jovonh Jacobs, Rasheema, Rashida, Rasheena and Hassan.

She is also survived by more grandchildren: Hasheem, Haseem, Hakeem and Hadeem Farrell, Nicole, Karishma and Rubina Christian; 53 great-grandchildren; sisters: Erie Santos, Felicia and Shalomith Christian; and nieces and nephews: Melvin Jr., Michael, Kandi, Malone, Lisa and Kira Potter, Krstyn, Amanda, Samaria, Jonathan and Mariah Lake, Michelle, Ronald, Elmo and Gregory Charles, Daria, Dennis, Desirae and De’Anna Cornelius, J’Lisa and J’Leel Thomas, Kemya, Anthony, Sharima, Sybil and Sybon Henderson.

Other survivors include cousin: Christian and McBean family; adopted children: Norma Roebuck, Delroy Christian and Jahmela Jacobson; daughter-in-law, Iraida C. Jacobs; granddaughter-in-law, Monique Georges; best friend, Sandra Smalls; special family friends: Cherene Williams and family, Belto Encarnacion and family, Serrano family, Linda Escobar, Rubina Penn, Jarvis family, Feraline Pascal, Collin Hodge, Anna Lewis, Wendy Rivera, Tishanna Carino, Alisha Simon, Elouise Brown, Corina Rampersad and the Ralph de Chabert family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The family requests those in attendance wear festive colors.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
