Body Found in Roadway Had Been Shot

The body of a 24-year-old St. Croix man was found shot to death in the roadway early Thursday in Frederiksted, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The victim was identified by by next of kin as Roland Bogan.

According to police, at 5:35 a.m. Thursday the 911 call center received a report of a lifeless body in the roadway by the Marley Housing Community in Frederiksted.

Officers and emergency medical technicians responded and discovered an unresponsive Hispanic male, identified as Bogan, with multiple gunshot wound to the body.

He was transported to the morgue at the Juan F. Luis Hospital.

Police urged anyone with information about the crime to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-778-2211, the 911 call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS.) Calls to Crime Stoppers that result in the resolution of a crime can qualify the caller for an anonymous cash reward.
