Alvin Delano Burke Sr., also known as “Baby,” “Kinko” and “Coach Burke,” of Estate Anna’s Hope died on Sept. 25. He was 62 years old.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn Chase Burke, BSN; son, Allen D. Burke; brothers: Attorney Calvin D. Burke Jr. and Kevin Burke; grandmothers: Clarissa Lynch-Trant and Florence Burke; grandfather, Samuel Christian Chase; aunts: Evelyn E. Williams, Merle McWatt, Gloria Burke, Isabella Burke, Estrid Trant and Astrid Trant; and uncles: Vernon Chase, Melrose Chase and Uan Trant.
He is survived by his father, Calvin Delano Burke Sr.; sons: Alvin Delano Burke Jr., Rishaun Burke, Callende Burke and Caleb Burke; daughters: Nyisha Richards, Sherraine Burke, Risheema Burke and A’Jada Burke; adopted son, Roy “Shaggy” Joseph; grandchildren: Amari Lockhart, J’Nyia Finch, J’Nae Finch, Aryia Davis, Bomani Christian, Omani Christian and Allure Burke; brothers: Dr. Glenwood Charles and Robert Burke; sisters: Carol Burke, Carolyn Burke, Maureen Burke-Ventura, Denise Christian and Crystal Burke; sister-in- law, Marsha Charles; and nephews: Ronel Burke, Darnley Petersen III, Shane I.M. Hodge, Andre Burke Sr., Glenwood Charles Jr., Angel Ventura III, Jazon Burke, Ramon Peguero, Dwaine McClean and Dulani Christian.
He is also survived by nieces: Shamar Charles-Johnson, Noelani Charles-Brannon, Ronae Burke, Ronique Burke, Shamiyah Burke and Dalilah Christian; great nephews: Kyrone, Kyrell, Kyraun and Kylanie Burke, Kyon Gonsales, Kyneil Anderson, Devante and Darnley Petersen, Andre Burke Jr., Amir Burke, Ky’Nai Christian, Zayden McFarlande, Silas Hodge and Saire Hodge, Kymahni and Kymahri Peguero and Zairean D. Burke; great nieces: Mikayla Johnson and Olivia Johnson, A’Naizjah Dennis, D’ Naizjah Petersen and Ky’Junae Brewster; and aunts and uncle: Thelma Battiste, Ecilma and Peter Trant and Valdemar Jackson.

There will be a viewing at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 19, at St. John’s Anglican Church. Interment will be at Christiansted Cemetery.
