Joseph E. Allen Sr., also known as “007,” of Hermon Hill died on May 24. He was 75 years old.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Allen and father, William Murrain.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Allen; son, Joseph Allen Jr.; daughters: Jeanine Allen and Jacqueline Allen; grandchildren: Chenae Allen, Mikhala James, Ciara James and Isabella Allen; sisters: Cecelia Hendrickson, Genevieve Jeffers, Monica Richardson, Arlette Murrain and Helen Covington; brothers: James Allen, Zephaniah Allen and Sylvester Allen; nieces: Julie Allen-Conway, Denise Hendrickson, Monica Allen, Latoya Allen, Jackie Jeffers and Lorie Jeffers; and nephews: Richard Allen, Anthony Allen, Anderson Allen, Dean Allen, Morris Gregory Jeffers and Sylvester Allen Jr.

He is also survived by great nieces and great nephews too numerous to mention; aunt, Eleanor Willet; uncle, Thomas Allen; daughter-in-law, Gertrude James de Allen; brothers-in-law, Melvin George Jeffers, William Covington, Troy McNair, Glenn Selkridge, Leighton Selkridge, Lincoln Selkridge, Keith Selkridge and Kenneth Selkridge; sisters-in-law: Maudriana Allen, Laverne Hurley Allen, Claudette Ross and Iris Lescene; special friends: Peach Simmonds, Lavelle Proctor, Peter Charlery, Kelvin Dennie, the Sunny Isle Baptist Church family and The Buccaneer family; as well as other cousins and relatives too numerous to mention.

There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 9, at Sunny Isle Baptist Church. Interment will immediately follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
