The high winds either cause the primary lines to make contact with each other or in some instances, lines are being affected by tree limbs and branches. There have also been a few reports of downed lines as well as pole fires. Crews will remain dispatched to address these problem areas until full restoration has been achieved.
Beginning Wednesday morning, crews have been dispatched on St. Thomas to the Frenchman’s Bay area and to Santa Maria, where service to a small number of customers is affected by either extensive overgrowth on electric lines or irregular voltage.
On St. Croix, crews are focusing on service interruptions in the following areas: Mon Bijou, La Grande Princesse, Estate St. John, Bethlehem Village, Profit Hill and Concordia East.
Customers can call WAPA to report service interruptions at 774-1424 on St. Thomas, St. John or Water Island and 773-0150 on St. Croix.
