Joseph A. Osborne Jr. Dies in Virginia

Joseph A. Osborne Jr.

Joseph A. Osborne Jr., also known as “Joe,” “Teacher Osborne” or “Mr. Osborne,” died on Jan. 7 at his residence in Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Vickers Jackson; and father, Joseph A. Osborne Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Donna-Marie Osborne; children: Jhamed Babatunde-Bey, Orisha Osborne, Trena Smith Thiyagarajah, Seba Osborne, Mia Osborne Alston and Miyoko Osborne; adopted sons: Sean Santos Sr., Kamal Barnes and Prem Thiyagarajah; and grandchildren: Bomani, Jhamed Jr., Zakkiyyah, Aaminah and Nailah Babatunde-Bey, Shalem Charles, Sean Santos Jr., Marquis Robertson, Enez and Elisa Osborne.

He is also survived by siblings: Deborah Peterson, Denise George, Donna Williams and Larry Jackson; sisters-in-law: Florette “Patsy” Flynn Caines and Ellery Flynn Christian; brothers-in-law: Lorne Dawson, Eusebio Christian Sr., James Caines and Burton Peterson; and nephews: Othniel Craig Brodhurst, Lambert “Lambie” Telesford, Craig and Joshua George, Tyrie Jackson, Louis, Eric and Jose Flynn, and Eusebio “Junito” Christian Jr.

Other survivors include nieces: Shenique George, Denee Rhymer, Okiesha Huertas, Okera Peterson, Tiffany Jackson, Aretha Brodhurst, Marilyn “Mari” Flynn, Jessica Tirado, Patricia “Pat” Evans, Gloryvee Krieger and Lilyann Bermudez; special cousin, Kenneth Osborne; special friends: Janice Rohlsen, Ira Jacobs, Larry Larsen, Christian Farrelly, Sherolin Hackshaw, Dorine Irish and Mary Espinosa; and a host of other beloved family and friends too numerous to mention.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at Kingdom Manna Life International Ministries, 14 Peter’s Rest, on Friday, Feb. 24. Cheerful colors welcomed!
