Limetree Bay Terminals Celebrates One Year Anniversary

On Jan. 4, Limetree Bay Terminals celebrated its one year anniversary. In its first year of operation, Limetree Bay Terminals employed over 500 employees and contractors, which included seven students from the University of the Virgin Island’s Process Technology Degree Program; contributed over $500,000 in scholarships and charitable contributions; sponsored local events such as the St. Croix Boat Parade, Crucian Christmas Stanley Serenade and the St. Croix Finest Pan Fest; welcomed its largest customer, Sinopec, to the facility; handled approximately 180 vessels; and brought 20 million barrels of capacity online.

Employees, contractors and their families celebrated the one year milestone with a family-style picnic on Jan. 15. At the celebration, Darius Sweet, CEO of Limetree, thanked employees and contractors for their contributions and diligence in returning the facility to operation in a safe and environmentally compliant manner. Limetree Bay Terminals thanks the St. Croix community for its continued support and looks forward to continuing its partnership with the territory.
