St. Croix Rescue Responds to Injured Tourist at the Tide Pools

St. Croix Rescue Squad responded to help a woman with an injured ankle near the tide pools in Annaly Bay, Thursday around 1:30 p.m. according to the rescue squad

The woman, who was a visiting tourist had taken the trail from the Renaissance St. Croix Carambola Beach Resort & Spa along with two friends. She had fallen near the trail that comes down to the beach and tide pools from Scenic Drive. This very steep, rutted trail is used for vehicles.

Rescue members got to the location to help the woman  by driving down in jeeps belonging to St. Croix Rescue Commander David Goodrich and Wave Phillips’ of Tan Tan Tours. EMT Jason Henry did a medical assessment and the team treated the woman’s and "packaged" it for transport. After driving out to the main road where EMS was waiting, the injured woman declined further treatment by EMS and signed a waiver.

St. Croix Rescue thanks Tan Tan Tours for their assistance getting in and out of the remote location.
