Walter Alexander Christian Sr., also known as “Crook” or “Mr. C,” of Estate Concordia, Frederiksted, died on March 24. He was 81 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Russell-Christian; sons: Walter Jr., Wayne, Warren Sr., Paul, Robert, James, Mario Sr., David Sr., and Gregory Christian; daughters: Norma, Lorraine, Paulette and Diane Christian; adopted daughters: Delriese Hamilton, Zelda Woodley, Tiona Allembert and Andrea Claxton; and grandchildren: Sherri-Anne McFarlane, Kevin, Keffanie, Devin and Larry John, Denniqua and Jaleel Benjamin, Renniqua, Shenniqua, Akai, Kahdeem, Ahniqua, Kahreem, Yahniqua and Kahmal Horsford, Jahniqua Christain, Elton Jr. and L’Oreal Murray, Shenee Wilson, Tishawn, Aushawn, Demour, Rashawn, Lashawn and Deshawn Christian, Terrell, N’Kira, N’Keisha Christian, Mario Jr. and Monea Christian, Akira James, Makayah Browne, Lionel, Ebony, Robert Jr., Raymond (deceased), Ray and Roi Christian, Jamal and Alexandria Christian, Warren Jr. and Shawn Christian, Jaleek Christian and David Christian Jr.
He is also survived by great-grandchildren: Raheem Chapman, Akeem Simmonds, K’Shylah Friday, D’andra Baptiste, D’mani Joseph, Masai Clercent, Shamari Elmes Jr., ReniyahVanterpool, Aniyah Murray, Jayde Jones, Amayah Montgomery, Larry Jr. and Amiyah John, Jayden, Jordan and Tiana Noorhassan, Aleeyah Camacho, Zaiden, Za’Monte, Zy’Keira and Zamere Christian, and Zy’Nasia Corington and Warren Christian III, Shaqunda Mills, Alay’Jah and Najai Maynard, Azaijah, Azannie and Azion Parris, great-great grandchild, Jahnile Morton; sisters: Claudette Rawlins-Williams, Dorine Petty, Catherine Christian and Sitna Yearwood; sister-in-law, Carmen Russell; brother-in-law, Raphael Russell; and daughters-in-law: Felecia Christian, Charlotte Christian and Nicole Chirstian.

A viewing will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Friday, April 10, at Divine Funeral Services Chapel. A second viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 13, at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Frederiksted. Interment will be at Frederiksted Cemetery.
