Police Investigate Non-fatal Shooting

A man was wounded by two gunshots during an altercation shortly after noon Wednesday at the JFK housing community, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The man, who was not identified in the report due to a VIPD policy not to name victims, told police he and another man were arguing when the suspect suddenly pulled a gun from his waist and shot him.

The victim was struck in his upper left arm and in his right hip. He was taken to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital for treatment. Detective from the department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau are searching for the suspect.
