Sixth Parent University Graduation Ceremony Set for March 6

Seventy-three parents will walk across the stage in pomp and circumstance during the sixth Parent University graduation ceremony scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, at the John H. Woodson Junior High School Auditorium, according to St. Croix Superintendent Gary Molloy. Graduating will be 36 advanced parent-graduates, who graduated from previous sessions and took advanced courses this round, and 37 new graduates.
“The Parent University Program is a series of informational workshops focused on improving parental and community involvement in the district,” said Janet Brow, district director of School Community Relations and Parent University coordinator. “All participants attended classes on a broad variety of topics related to raising children, education and social issues affecting families and the community.”
The next series of Parent University classes will begin in May 2011.
