Beulah Augustine Gomez Thurland Dead at 80

Beulah Augustine Gomez Thurland

Beulah Augustine Gomez Thurland, born June 13, 1929, of La Grande Princesse died at her home on July 29.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Peter G. Thurland; daughters: Denise Jefferson, Michelle Thurland-Martinez and Angeli Ferdschneider; sons: Pierre, Jean Andre and Sen. Michael Thurland; grandchildren: Tiffany Liddie, Peter Martinez, Edith and Leah Ferdschneider, Marcus and Cristina Thurland; and sisters: Carolyn Heywood, Lena Moorhead, Maria G.van Putten, Aurea Stamatakis, Gloria Burton and Lydia Cuencas. She is also survived by sisters-in-law: Modesta Thurland, Elaine Gomez, Margarita Heywood, Carmen Gomez and Winnifred Sheen; brothers-in-law: Will Thurland and Marion Moore; daughters-in-law: Elizabeth Thurland and Jamelia Thurland; sons-in-law: Keith Jefferson, Jose R. Martinez and Mark Ferdschneider; cousin, Lydia Daniel; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Special thanks go out to the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services Family Caregiver Support Program and to the Continuum Care, Inc. Hospice of St. Croix, their management and hospice team.
A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug.12, at the St. John’s Episcopal Church in Christiansted. Interment will follow at the Kingshill Cemetery.
All are encouraged to wear bright colors.
