New Distribution Sites Announced for Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge

Students of the Virgin Islands who are participating in the Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge (grades K-8) are advised that effective today book distribution sites have changed. The new sites are open weekdays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. from Aug. 3-14. “These new sites will enable students to continue to check out their additional books while the schools receive summer repairs and maintenance,” said Rebecca Smock, special assistant to the governor.

The distribution sites on St. Croix now include: Florence Williams Public Library and Athalie M. Petersen Public Library. On St. Thomas, the new operating site is the Enid Baa Public Library; on St. John, students may visit the Elaine Sprauve Public Library. Previous centers will no longer be serving as distribution sites.
Tracking sheets may be returned until Aug. 28, by dropping them off to Rebecca Smock at Government House, St. Thomas (693-4316) or Angeli Ferdschneider at Government House, St. Croix (712-8125).
