Stealers 23, Salty Sailors 7
The Salty Sailors came into Monday's nightcap on a high after a huge upset Thursday night, when they beat Speak the Word Ministries 19-8. However, any hopes of repeating that feat against the mighty Stealers were quickly dashed from the onset. The Stealers scored at will and at one point held a 19-0 advantage. It was 23-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, where the Salty Sailors were able to avoid the whitewash by plating seven runs. It was not, however, enough to avoid the 10-run mercy rule being enforced; the game was called at the end of the inning with the Stealer coming away with the easy 23-7 victory. The Stealers finished with 23 runs on 28 hits and three errors, while the Salty Sailors plated seven runs on 12 hits with two errors. Sam Ramos picked up the win on the hill for the Stealers, while Denny Denton got the loss for the Salty Sailors. Top hitters for the Stealers were Raymond Cintron, 4 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs, and Aaron Howell, 4 for 5 with two home runs and two RBIs. For the Salty Sailors, Jeff Elvins went 1 for 2 with a home run and four RBIs and Jason Helina went 2 for 2 with an RBI.
