Sept. 7, 2008 – The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands will release the U.S. Virgin Islands KIDS COUNT Data Book 2007 – "Our Children Matter!" at community meetings on St. Thomas and St. Croix. Present at the meetings will be Ricardo J. Charaf, CFVI chairman; Judith Richardson, KIDS COUNT director; Alda Monsanto, CFVI vice-chair; and Dee Baecher-Brown, CFVI president.
CFVI will make a presentation of the book from 10 a.m. to noon, on Thursday, Sept. 18, at Hibiscus Beach Resort, St. Croix.
The 8th annual USVI KIDS COUNT Data Book provides information on the well being of children in the V.I. Its purpose is to promote dialogue on children's issues, and community response and action to improve the health, safety and economic status of V.I. children from birth to age 18. This year's Data Book provides current data on children and families, as well as data trends in the U.S.V.I. for the past 10-15 years.
