Jazz Trumpeter Chris Botti Coming to Reichhold Center

Jan. 16, 2008 – Jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, will perform at 8 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Reichhold Center for the Arts, playing such standards as "When I Fall in Love," "Let There be Love" and "My One and Only Love." He comes to the Virgin Islands on the heels of his 2007 sold-out, two-week stint at New York's famed Blue Note jazz club. Joining him are drummer Billy Kilson, guitarist Mark Whitfield, pianist Peter Martin and vocalist Sy Smith, along with the V.I.'s own Rueben Rogers on bass, according to a news release from Reichhold Center.
Botti has earned a reputation as one of the nation's most compelling jazz artists with his innovative trumpet melodies. Botti's CDs, featuring such guest artists as Sting, Gladys Knight, Jill Scott and Michael Buble, have soared to the top of the jazz charts, earning numerous awards and public accolades. Botti's newest release, "Italia," is nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album. Visit reichholdcenter.com to hear samples of Botti's music.
