Newsbrief: Community Foundation Offering New Mattresses to Charities

April 13, 2006 — The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands has recently received a donation of 136 new mattresses from the cruise ship, Wind Spirit, according to a press release issued Thursday.
While in the process of fitting all its guest cabins with new mattresses, officials with the Wind Spirit realized the mattresses were the wrong size and decided to donate them to organizations on St. Thomas.
CFVI stepped up to organize the storage and donation of the mattresses. With help from the V.I. Port Authority, CFVI made arrangements to store the mattresses until they are distributed to organizations in need.
All charitable organizations interested in the new mattresses, measuring 63 inches by 79 inches, should contact CFVI at 774-6031.
