Crown Bay Marina Names Walling Harbormaster

Dec. 2, 2005 — Joseph Walling will be heading south this winter: The 27-year-old Portland, Maine native will become harbormaster at Crown Bay Marina on St. Thomas, the marina announced this week.
Walling spent three years at Spring Point Marina in Maine, where his responsibilities included customer service, scheduling, vessel handling and more. He graduated from the Maine Maritime Academy in 2000 with an associates degree in marina management.
Crown Bay Marina officials recruited Walling from Jupiter, Fla., where he worked in custom yacht construction and marine services.
Crown Bay Marina on St. Thomas is a 4.5 acre facility that routinely manages more than 40 arrivals or departures daily during the winter season.
