Dear Source,
I am responding to the letter from Ms. Terri Payne.
With all due respect, I don't know what you read or listen to insofar as news is concerned, whether on a local or national level, but the Virgin Islands Police Department did manifest a rather unusually tremendous effort in quickly apprehending and charging two young local men (one juvenile and one adult) in this homicide.
The case certainly did hit the national newspapers but media is media and, once the case is apparently solved and the perpetrators are behind bars, the national media really has no interest in the case and rarely follows up because there is no real drama involved.
The Natalie Holloway case in Aruba remains a mystery and thus the national media interest continues.
Ms. Payne, and again with all due respect, this has nothing to do with any kind of a race issue.
Sincerely,
Anna Clarke
St. Thomas
