Schneider Hospital Brings “Dinner with a Doctor” to St. John

Schneider Regional Medical Center is excited to announce that its well-received monthly educational series, Dinner with a Doctor, will be hosted on St. John for the very first time in celebration of National Community Health Improvement Week. This special edition of Dinner with a Doctor will take place on Wednesday, June 12, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Virgin Islands Legislature Hall – Cleone H. Creque Legislative Annex, St. John.

This special edition is part of SRMC’s ongoing commitment to providing accessible healthcare education throughout the territory. Attendees will gain valuable insight into the many services available at the Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center — including some that residents may not realize are offered locally.

The event will feature Dr. Joseph DeJames, long-standing physician and lead provider at MKSCHC, who will present on managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, while also highlighting the full scope of services available to the St. John community.

Also joining the program is Mr. Darryl Smalls, Executive Director of the Territorial Hospital Redevelopment Team, who will provide a much-anticipated update on the redevelopment and rebuilding plans for MKSCHC — an area of strong community interest.

The evening will conclude with a town hall-style Q&A session, giving community members the opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and engage directly with SRMC and THRT leadership.

This event is hosted by SRMC Chief Executive Officer Tina M. Comissiong, Esq., MPA.

SRMC extends its sincere thanks to the Virgin Islands Legislature for supporting this community initiative and providing use of the St. John Annex facility.

Admission is free and open to the public. Registration via Eventbrite is encouraged.
