A lab report purporting to be from Schneider Regional Medical Center is a fake, hospital officials said.
“Schneider Regional Medical Center has been made aware of a fraudulent laboratory report currently circulating on WhatsApp and possibly on other social media platforms. The document falsely uses SRMC’s logo and branding,” according to a message to media outlets.
“We want to make it unequivocally clear:
• The document currently circulating on WhatsApp and other platforms is not a product of SRMC or its laboratories.
• The information contained in the report is in no way confirmed by SRMC.
The unauthorized use of SRMC’s name, logo, and likeness in the dissemination of harmful information is a serious offense. It is defamatory to the individuals referenced and undermines our healthcare institution.
SRMC is actively investigating this matter and will pursue all legal remedies available against those responsible for the fabrication and distribution of the fraudulent report. We are coordinating with legal counsel and the appropriate authorities to identify the source(s) and ensure they are held accountable.
We remain committed to the highest standards of patient confidentiality, privacy, and healthcare excellence. We strongly urge the public to refrain from sharing or reposting any version of this fraudulent report or any other false information and to rely solely on official communications directly from SRMC.
For questions or to report suspicious communications, please contact our Health Information Management (HIM) Department at (340) 776-8311.
We thank the community for its continued trust in Schneider Regional Medical Center”
