In recognition of National Boat Safety Month, the America’s Boating Club — St. Thomas Sail and Power Squadron, District 33, will host a public outreach event on Sunday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the waterfront apron nearest the U.S. Coast Guard headquarters.

The event hopes to raise awareness about boating safety and will feature a range of educational displays and demonstrations. Attendees can expect informative brochures, a hands-on display of personal flotation devices, and knot-tying techniques. Club members will also be on hand to discuss the organization’s services, which include boating education courses, vessel safety checks, and boat inspections.

In conjunction with the day’s Carnival races, the club will conduct live vessel safety checks to further promote safe boating practices in the community.

Members of the public are encouraged to stop by the tent, engage with local boating safety experts, and learn more about how to enjoy the water responsibly.
