Just in time for Valentine’s Day, it’s a new era of fragrance for Violette Boutique which officially reopened its doors at its new location in the town of Frederiksted. Violette Boutique has been the go-to spot for fragrances since part-owner Christine Hilty’s mother originally opened Violette Boutique in 1962 in Frederiksted. Violette Boutique then relocated to the town of Christiansted in 1964 and was there ’til 2020 when it closed its doors during the pandemic.

“It’s a beautiful gift,” said Hilty referring to perfume. “It’s elegant, the bottles are beautiful and it’s very personalized depending on the scent you are interested in.”

The other owner of Violette Boutique, Eric Lejeune, and Hilty searched for a new location for the boutique and it took two and a half to three years for them to find the new location. “I was looking for something that was going to be really special, like Violette Boutique in the Caravelle was.”
Hilty said that her father was a major developer in Christiansted. “If you look at all the buildings, they all have archways from the Danish. My father always tried to keep the style versus being modern,” said Hilty.

Hilty said that there are so many positives about being in Frederiksted and she’s happy to be in the new location.
“I have had amazing support. I had people here from when we had Violette’s in the 70s and 80s. I mean it was just amazing,” she said.

“What makes Violette Boutique so special is our customer service and ability to cater to the local community. We try to make it very personal. It’s not about just coming by and go,” said Hilty
If you are interested in stopping by to see the new store location, Violette Boutique’s hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on non-cruise ship days. It is located at 4A Strand Street.
