St. Croix held its 3rd Cross Country race in the 2022 SCIAA Cross Country Series on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Cross Country course in Negro Bay.

The Elementary Girls’ Mile race had 58 runners

The next Cross Country race, which is the SCIAA St. Croix Cross Country Championship, will be held on Oct. 26 at Negro Bay on Centerline Road, St. Croix, across from the Department of Agriculture.

Virgin Islands Track and Field and Cross Country Team member Michelle Smith, a junior at Montverde Academy High School, competed in the Florida District Championships in Melbourne, Fla. on Oct. 22. Smith finished 7th in the district with a time of 20:14.07 in the 5K race. She helped Montverde Academy to a 2nd place finish in the district team standing behind Bishop Moore H.S.
Smithโs next race will be the FHSAA Regional Championship Meet in Brooksville, Fla., on Oct. 28.
The V.I. National 10K Road Race Championship will be held on Oct. 29 on St. Croix. The race will start and finish by the Landing Beach Bar at Cane Bay. Race start: 7 a.m.
