105-Year-Old Woman is Territory’s 29th COVID-Related Death

The USVI Department of Health on Saturday confirmed that a 105-year-old woman from St. Thomas was the territory’s 29th death related to COVID-19.

The woman’s name was not released in accordance with department policy. The death was reported in a news release issued Saturday afternoon.

According to the department’s most recent COVID-19 data, posted Wednesday, June 9, the St. Thomas/Water Island District had 110 current cases of COVID-19, while St. Croix had nine and St. John one.

In its news release, Health urged residents to continue to follow these precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19: Stay at home, practice social distancing, wear a mask when in the company of others outside of those in your household, clean frequently used areas thoroughly, and wash your hands often with soap and warm water.

Residents can report a suspected case of COVID-19 by calling 340-712-6299 or 340-776-1519. Anyone who has a medical emergency should call 911.
