UVI-SBDC Offers Seminars on V.I. Film Industry Opportunities

Feb. 14, 2008 – The UVI Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in collaboration with the Virgin Islands Department of Tourism presents two seminars on Film Industry Opportunities in the Virgin Islands. Both will be taught from 6-7:30 p.m., at the UVI-SBDC Training Facility, Nisky Center, suite 720, St. Thomas. Seminar I will take place on Thursday, Feb. 21, and Seminar II on Wednesday, Feb. 27. Admission is $20 for each seminar. There is a $5 discount for each seminar for those who pre-register. UVI students, staff and faculty who have valid I.D. are admitted free; however, they must pre-register.
If you have always wanted to work in the local film industry, these seminars could be a great start. Find out what types of jobs are available in the local film industry and what it takes to start your own business in production. Learn about some of the U.S.V.I. Film Office's upcoming projects and get on the referral list. Seminar I is designed for individuals and Seminar II is designed for businesses.
