A St. Croix teen-ager was killed in an automobile accident on St. Croix early Sunday morning after the vehicle in which she was riding slammed into a wall.
Deputy Police Chief Novelle Francis said Sunday an investigation is under way to determine whether alcohol or negligent driving were factors in the accident.
There was no information available on whether the driver of the Isuzu pickup was injured or whether he will be charged in connection with the death of the girl, a 16-year-old from William's Delight. The accident occurred at the intersection of Golden Grove and Queen Mary Highway.
St. Croix police are also investigating a reported sexual assault. The incident was reported to police on Saturday afternoon and reportedly occurred at the Walter I.M. Hodge housing community. Little information was available Sunday about the attack.
