NFL Players and Celebrities Empower V.I. Youth at Camps

Hundreds of 13-17 year-olds from St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John will receive free educational and athletic life skills training from celebrities and local business professionals during the Weekend of Champions, Presented by Innovative.
This exciting weekend begins July 15 with a “Day of Outreach” to encourage participation in making the territory a better place to live. Celebrities from the NFL and Hollywood will be visiting St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas to visit and encourage local charities and U.S.V.I. historical sites.
There will be two camps held during the weekend: the Football and Life Skills Camp is scheduled for July 15-17 at UVI Sports and Fitness Center and the Fitness and Life Skills Camp is scheduled for July 16-17 at UVI Health and Wellness Center.
The camps are presented by Youth Lifeline America, a non-profit organization that harnesses the powerful influences of athletes, entertainers and business professionals to teach valuable skills to become more positive and productive citizens. It has been hosting programs across the United States since 2000. Last year, it began programming in the territory including the largest toy giveaway in U.S. Virgin Islands history, among its credentials. In a unique twist, this year’s camps will also include Department of Tourism training in the curriculum.
Additionally, the Weekend of Champions, Presented by Innovative will include the Pure White Party, an exciting event to benefit charity. This event will be hosted by celebrities from the NFL and Hollywood, and will include a full open bar, food, entertainment and Grammy Award-winning DJ Spinderella.
